J.P. Morgan named as one of the top 50 employers in the U.K. for women.

For the second year running, The Times newspaper has named J.P. Morgan as one of the top 50 employers of women in the U.K. in its annual survey of “Where Women Want to Work.”

“Making it onto the list two years running is a great achievement and will ensure that J.P. Morgan continues to attract and retain the top female talent in the job market,” says Carol Lake, head of IB Diversity and Philanthropy in EMEA region.

The list, which is not ranked, showcases the most progressive large employers in the U.K. To qualify for inclusion in the survey, firms have to demonstrate that they have a progressive and transparent culture, that they celebrate diversity and have a strong track record of providing opportunities for women, that they are eager to embrace new technology to facilitate a good work-life balance and that they are strongly committed to being socially responsible.

Among the many achievements contributing to the firm’s inclusion this year in the top 50 survey are:

  • The firm’s range of strategic initiatives and networks supporting women's re-entry into the workforce, such as Back2Business
  • Jamie Dimon, CEO and Chairman, chairs the firm’s Corporate Diversity Council which counts membership from some of our most senior executives
  • The firm’s investment in strengthening and empowering the communities and markets it serves. One example is the School Mentoring Program, which works with young female students at key stages in their academic careers.
  • The firm’s support of The Global Fund for Women, which is the largest grant-making foundation in the world focusing exclusively on advancing women’s rights internationally.
