Applications.
How should I apply?
You will need to complete an online application form, indicating a business area and programme (e.g. graduate, internship, Spring Week). Guidelines on how to complete our online application form are available on our application system.
When should I apply?
You can start applying from September 1, 2007. Screening and interviewing will start immediately so we recommend you submit your application as soon as possible. For specific business area deadlines click here.
Can I apply to more than one business area?
No. You can only apply to one business area. Duplicate applications will jeopardize your initial application.
Can I apply for a Summer Internship if I am not in my penultimate year of study?
Summer Internships are aimed at penultimate year students. If you are a final year student and planning to continue your studies for a further year for please notify us of this on the application form. If you are in your final year of study and not planning to continue your studies you should be thinking about applying to our graduate programme.
I am a Masters student. Where should I apply?
Final year Masters Students should apply to the graduate programme.
I am a PhD student. Where should I apply?
If you are in your final year, studying for a quantitative PhD you may wish to apply to Quantitative PhD business area (Quantitative Research) or other quantitative Markets roles on the application form. Please note, by quantitative subjects we mean maths, physics, chemistry, computer science, biology, geology, engineering, economics, financial maths and econometrics.
All other PhD students should apply to a specific business area via the graduate programme.
Am I eligible to apply if I require a work permit?
Yes, you are eligible. We are able to issue you with a work permit if you require one before you start.
Can I apply to different regions?

When will I hear if my application is successful?
You will be sent a response as soon as possible but please bear in mind that depending on the time of year response times may vary.
How many rounds will I typically have to attend?
You typically have two rounds, but it varies by business area and scheme.
Who will I interview with?
You will be interviewed by representatives from the business or graduate recruitment.
Will my interview expenses such as travel be reimbursed?
Yes. You will be sent a reimbursement form with your interview details. We can also help you book accommodation if you are travelling from overseas.
What should I do if my circumstances change? For example if I have a final interview with another company?
Please go to the Contact Us page within the Application Centre and email the business area you have applied to.
Offers.
Where will I be based if I am made an offer?
The majority of positions are located in London; however there are some opportunities in local offices depending on the business area you apply to.
How should I manage multiple offers from different companies?
Establish if there is an offer deadline and don't be afraid of asking the recruitment team if you need more time. Maintain open and honest communication with all of your recruitment contacts.
Will there be formal training?
At the start of your employment, you will be invited to attend a business area specific training programme. These vary in duration and content and have been designed to provide you with the skills and information you require to become a well rounded analyst. JPMorgan continues to provide on the job training and class-room instruction as part of our on-going commitment to your career development. What type of contract will I receive?
JPMorgan issue permanent contracts as we are strongly committed to your long term career.
When am I expected to start if I am offered a graduate position at JPMorgan?
Start dates are specific to the business area you apply to. Investment Banking, Sales, Trading & Research, Risk and Asset Management programmes start in August or September, while Operations, Finance & Business Management and Technology recruit for positions throughout the year.
When am I expected to start if I am offered a summer internship at JPMorgan?
Your start date will be confirmed with your internship offer and you usually will be required to start in late June. |
