Asset Management
Training in Asset Management involves internal and external training courses alongside work experience and is designed to allow you to tailor your learning to match the nature and timing of the challenges in your daily work.
Your training will start with a London-based induction programme that lasts for approximately two weeks. During these two weeks, you’ll gain all the skills you need to help get you started in your role, and give you a business wide network from day one. You’ll then move quickly to your assigned team. Surrounded by experienced professionals, you’ll find this is simply the fastest way to understand the specifics of your role and you'll find your confidence and competence growing daily.
Formal training continues with the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exams, which are external qualifications. The firm funds both sets of exams, and offers study leave to help you dedicate enough time to be successful on the courses. The highly-rated CFA is taken in three stages, usually over three years, and is the globally recognised qualification for asset valuation and portfolio management professionals. Once you reach associate level, you may have the chance to participate in our four week Investment Management Training Programme in New York. The Investment Management Training Programme provides a career development pipeline for qualified investors, client interfacing professionals and functional support professionals who wish to build upon solid foundations in Asset Management’s products and processes.
In addition, an extensive range of 'soft skills' training is available - such as negotiation, communication skills, and how to make successful business presentations. You'll also have access to our career management system, which provides tools to help you analyse your skills, aptitudes and preferences, and to access advice on how to manage your career and achieve your goals.
