We invest a lot of time, care and resource to our internship and placement programs. To us, they represent nothing less than our long-term success. They're an opportunity for you to find out about us, and vice versa. It's also a chance to gain some real work experience.

Which means that you'll be really working. Our philosophy is this: if you're good enough to succeed in our application process, then you're good enough to assume responsibility. Could there be a better way of meeting your future colleagues than working next to them on a placement? You can count on them to show you around and show you the ropes. After all, they recognise potential when they meet it.

An internship should be like a dialogue; your chance to talk to us, and our chance to talk to you. And it's not just about the work. The social side of things has always been important to us, and through some organised events and relationships you forge yourself, you'll be able to build a vital network of colleagues and friends for the future.

Our Summer Internships are aimed at penultimate - year students, but there are other ways for you to get involved and get to know us. For example our Spring Week programme is designed for first - year students, and we have a number of events such as Winning Women, FantasyFutures for you to spend time with us.

Whatever the timing, an internship or a placement is the ideal opportunity to find out about a career with us. There's only so much you can learn from books, brochures, websites or careers events. If you really want to find out what it's like to work at JPMorgan, work at JPMorgan. You don't need to be studying economics, but you will need to be highly numerate and have a quick, analytical mind.

They are vital for us to meet our leaders of the future - and many people who come and work with us, end up working with us full time.
